Vostok Amphibia SE 150L07

Vostok Amphibia SE 150L07

The Vostok Amphibia SE 150L07 is a special edition Vostok watch that was released for sale in the summer of 2017 at Meranom’s website. (Edit 05/03/18 Please note Meranom released some more watches of this limited edition in March 2018 with a different serial number, Amphibian SE 150B04).

It is based on the the standard Amphibia 150 case. I don’t currently have any of the standard 150s in my collection mainly because there isn’t one with a dial that takes my fancy. I do, however, have another SE 150 in my collection, the SE 150520S, which has a 24 hour GMT style dial and black face with a light greyish / white seconds subdial. I have already described the 150 case in detail at the SE 150520S review, so if you want to read more about the 150 case, please visit have a quick read of that.

As they say, a picture is worth a thousand words and, as you can see, the Vostok Amphibia SE 150L07 has a predominantly orange colour scheme. It is supplied with a bright orange 4 ring zulu drive strap which nicely complements the orange in the dial. The dial is a classic old school Vostok Amphibia dial and one can that is quite often seen it in old Amphibias for sale. I only recently spoke about the classic colour scheme version of this dial in my recent review of the Amphibia Classic 670927. The orange colour scheme certainly stands out more and, to my eye, the dial appears easier to read than the classic black / blue dial. Below you will find a picture of the other SE 150 and the 670 for comparison (670 = similar dial, SE 150 same watch case).

The Vostok Amphibia SE 150L07 has the standard Vostok Amphibia 150 case (brushed), 200m case back, Amphibia hand set with a white seconds hand, 2416B (31 jewels) movement and the new(ish) stainless steel crown with a slightly straighter finished edge than previous ones (as per the 670). The lume is pretty good too.

Where the special edition does differ is the bezel. The bezel is a Vostok Amphibia Black Bezel. It has featured on several watches before and is also available to buy separately. The bezel is stainless steel with a black anodised aluminum bezel insert and lume pip at 12 o’clock. The bezel is a bit narrower than the standard bezel types and, in my opinion, seems to “fit” the watch better. I think you can see that 24 hour bezel on the SE 150520S in the picture above overhangs the 150 case between the lugs more. The narrower bezel just looks a bit smarter, you can see this in the picture below too (bottom right).

I didn’t really have an orange Amphibia in the collection, so this one fills that gap, and it is a great colour scheme for the summer. There was another colour variation of this released, the SE 150B26, with a green / black dial and a green zulu strap, which has a much more military feel to it.

Here is the obligatory wristshot on my 7 and a half inch wrist.

So, there you have it. I am still not 100% sold on the 150 case with the slightly protruding bezel slightly but, nevertheless, it is a great looking Amphibia, perfect for for the summer or outdoor activities. I expect this one might eventually find its way onto a brown leather or black diver’s strap at some point. I have also tried it out on a military green zulu which changes the look completely to something a little less, well, orange if you don’t want it to stand out too much (and sometimes I don’t!).
