Vostok Komandirskie Classic K-35 350503
I don’t own many Vostok Komandirksie watches, I am much more of an Vostok Amphibia kind of guy. However, I couldn’t resist purchasing a Vostok Komandirskie when I recently picked up the new Vostok Amphibia SE150520S. The Vostok Komandirskie K-35 range is a relatively new addition to the Vostok Komandirskie range and the watches are well built, with a smart bezel, and look a little different from some of the more classic Komandirskie ranges. The model I chose is the Vostok Komandirskie 350503.

There are quite a few different variations in the Komandirskie K-35 range in terms of dials, bezels and movement. As far as I can work out there are 5 or 6 different bezels and all appear to be stainless steel with the same shape but ifferent numeral markers. The Komandirskie 350353 has a bezel with numeral markers at 5 second intervals, 60 second markers indicated by black dots and a nice big lume dot at 12 o’clock. For me this was the most attractive bezel although I do like the Komandirskie 350623 bezel which is similar(ish) and has an inverted white triangle lume marker at 12 o’clock.
There appear to be 5 different movements used in the 35 range. The 350353 is fitted with the Vostok 2416B movement that will be familiar to anyone who owns a standard Vostok Amphibia. This is an automatic, self-winding, 31 jewel movement with a central second hand and date wheel.
The other movements used in the range are,
2432.01 – automatic movement with central second hand with an inner date wheel (for a large date window display below 12 o’clock) – e.g. 350622, 350623
2432 – automatic movement with central second hand and a 24 hour day / night indicator – e.g. 350604
2431.01 – 24 hour display automatic movement with central second hand e.g. 350617, 350642
2415.12 – automatic movement with seconds sub dial at the 10 o’clock marker e.g. 350501
The Vostok Komandirskie 350353 features a black dial with white and red markings. It is a 12 hour dial and is very much in the military style. There are 60 seconds markers and there are hour markers which the numerals 12, 3 and 9 and 24 hour numerals (13, 14, 16 etc.) at the other hour markers except the at 6 o’clock where there is a date window. The date wheel features white numerals on a black background which smartly fits in with the black dial. There is some small white writing at the bottom of the dial, including the words “100m” and “31 jewels” and a faint white cross across the centre of the dial. The dial also features the word Komandirskie in red below 12 o’clock and the Komandirskie red star and chevron logo in red above the 6 o’clock mark. The lume is good with dots at the hour markers and the aforementioned lume dot on the bezel. The watch hands are the hands one finds on a standard Amphibia – a straight minute hand, an arrow type hour hand and a red seconds hand with a lume dot towards the tip.
The Vostok Komandirskie 350353 body is brushed stainless steel and measures 42mm across without the crown, it is 15mm thick and has a 22mm lug width. The stainless steel case back is a design I haven’t seen before with a lined pattern, the Vostok “B” logo and some Cyrillic wording (let me know what it says, and I will include it here). The watch came with a good quality, black, leather watch strap with red stitching which matches well with the red and black colours in he dial. The crown is a standard crown and doesn’t appear to be stainless steel, which is a shame. It also has the standard, domed plexiglass crystal and the watch is presented in a square, red box.
So there you have it. If I had to describe the watch I would describe it as a military inspired Komandirskie / Amphibia cross, perhaps a military diver, as it seems to take design cues from both the Komandirskie and Amphibia ranges. The watch reminds me of a little larger-cased version of the Amphibia SE120725 which I have in my collection. It sits well on my 7 and a half inch wrist and is a nice size, not too big and not too small. As I write this the watch sells for around $60.
Thanks, ordered one. (dark blue face)
“2432.01 – automatic movement with central second hand with an inner date wheel (for a large date window display below 12 o’clock) – e.g. 350622, 350623” – no, that’s also a 24-hours indicator, just looking different 🙂
